Chrysothricaceae
Chrysothrix flavovirens Growth type crustose Chemical results negative. UV+ dull to bright orange, K/UV+ yellow Occurs on dry, well-lit and usually nutrient-poor wood and lignum, less often found on the bark of conifers and deciduous trees. Occasionally the tiny black pycnidia of Minutophoma chrysophthalmae can be found on the apothecia. Inconspicuous thallus +/- covered by thin or scattered, dull yellowish-green granular soredia. Apothecia are rare, when present usually few in number. Spores 1-3 septate, (8-)10-13(-15) x 2.7-3.5(-4) µm. Micrograph below. Similar: Chrysothrix candelaris is brighter in colour, Lecanora expallens is C+ orange and Psilolechia lucida is usually saxicolous |
